Wire Payment/Transfer Fee
General Information — All Reps
Overview
This guide covers what reps need to know about the fee associated with client wire payments/transfers.
Who This Is For: All reps.
Key Information
- Sender's fee: When a client pays via wire transfer, the client's sending financial institution will charge the client a sender's fee.
- Fee amount: This fee is determined by the client's bank, not by RRI.
- Client questions: If a client asks about the fee amount, refer them to their bank for additional information.
- Client responsibility: The client is responsible for covering their own sender's fee, in addition to the full amount owed to RRI in USD. The sender's fee should not reduce the amount RRI receives.
Important: RRI does not set or control this fee, and reps should not quote a specific dollar amount to clients.
Quick Tips for Success
- The sender's fee is the client's responsibility. It's charged by the client's own bank, not by RRI.
- The client must cover the fee on top of what they owe. RRI needs to receive the full amount due; the sender's fee should be paid separately by the client, not deducted from the wire.
- Don't guess the fee amount. It varies by financial institution and RRI has no visibility into what each bank charges.
- Always refer clients to their bank. They're the only ones who can confirm the exact fee for their account.
