Chrome Browser Guide - Extension Setup
Overview
This guide explains how to set up Chrome extensions. Extensions give you a faster, easier way to access applications you use regularly, such as Salesforce Lightning and Calendly, directly from your browser.

Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Search for an Extension
Open your Chrome browser. Click in the URL bar and type the name of the extension you need for your role.
Tip: Always select the extension from the official Chrome Web Store to make sure you’re installing a safe, verified version.
Step 2: Install the Salesforce Lightning Extension
Search for the Salesforce Lightning Extension. Look for the icon with a blue lightning bolt and gear symbol, labeled Lightning Extension.
- Click on the extension.
- Click Add to Chrome.
- When the pop-up appears asking if you want to add the extension, click Add Extension to confirm.
Step 3: Install the Calendly Chrome Extension
Search for the Calendly Chrome extension. Look for the icon with a blue “C,” labeled Calendly for Chrome.
- Click on the extension.
- Click Add to Chrome.
- When the pop-up appears, click Add Extension to confirm.
Step 4: Pin Your Extensions
Once your extensions are installed, you’ll see a puzzle piece icon appear next to the URL bar.
- Click the puzzle piece icon to view all of your recently installed extensions.
- Click the pushpin icon next to each extension to pin it to your toolbar for quick access.
- Click outside the box once you are finished.
Step 5: Personalize Your Extension Settings
Click on each pinned extension icon to personalize its settings:
- Lightning Extension: click the icon, toggle on the Link Grabber option, then click Allow.
- Calendly Extension: click the icon to open a side panel in your browser, giving you quick access to manage your Calendly bookings with clients.
Best Practices
Follow these guidelines every time you set up a Chrome extension:
- Only install extensions from the official Chrome Web Store.
- Double-check that the extension icon and name match what you’re looking for before adding it.
- Review any permission pop-ups carefully before confirming.
- Pin extensions you use regularly so they’re easy to find in your toolbar.
- Personalize each extension’s settings to fit how you work.
