This article outlines the transition from Coastal to Rippling for time tracking, including what is changing, who is impacted, key dates, and required actions to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
Overview of the Change
- All time tracking is now completed in Rippling effective immediately
- Excel timesheet workbooks are no longer used
- Employees must follow a weekly submission cadence
- Pay schedules remain unchanged unless otherwise noted
Employee Groups and Requirements
1. Full-Time Non-Exempt Employees (Overtime Eligible)
- Effective Date: 3/30/2026 for the 4/15 check
- Pay Schedule: Semi-monthly, 15th and end of month
- Submission Frequency: Weekly
What is changing
- Timesheets are still semi-monthly, but must be submitted weekly
- Overtime is processed in the current pay cycle instead of being delayed
Why this change matters
- Real-time overtime capture improves pay accuracy and timing
- Weekly review reduces missed punches and errors
- Managers can approve time faster with smaller batches
Example
- Time entered on 03/30 and 03/31 contributes to the week ending 04/05
- Overtime from that week can be included in the 4/15 paycheck
2. Commissioned Sales and Coaches
- Includes commissioned-only sales and employees receiving a draw
- Includes full-time and part-time coaches
Requirements
- Must complete and submit weekly timesheets
- Remain on a semi-monthly pay schedule
- Time tracking is required for ESOP eligibility
3. Part-Time Hourly Employees
- Pay Schedule Change: Moving to bi-weekly
First Pay Period
- Covers: 03/23 through 04/05
- Pay Date: 4/15
Requirements
- Enter time starting the week of 03/23
- Continue submitting time weekly
4. Full-Time Exempt Employees
- Remain on a semi-monthly pay schedule
- Not required to enter time in Rippling
New Weekly Workflow
- Track Daily: Log hours in Rippling as work is completed
- Submit Weekly: Submit timesheet at the end of the last workday of the week
- Manager Review: Managers begin approvals every Monday

- Log into Rippling by 04/05 to review the system and confirm access
- Begin tracking time immediately based on your employee group requirements
- Use the mobile app for easier daily tracking if preferred
