Calendly does not allow a client’s email address to be edited once the contact has been created. This is a platform limitation and applies to all users.
Why You Cannot Edit the Email
After a contact is created in Calendly, the email field becomes locked.
Even if you click Edit on the contact page, the email will appear grayed out and uneditable.
This prevents accidental or partial changes that could break scheduling logic or event history tied to the original email.
What To Do if a Client Needs a New Email Address
If a client wants to use a different email address, you will need to:
Create a new contact in Calendly using the correct email.
Recreate any scheduled events that need to be tied to the new email address.
⚠️ If you delete the original contact, you will lose any scheduled events associated with that email.
For this reason, do not delete the old contact unless those events have been rescheduled or are no longer needed.
What Can Be Edited
You can still update the following information on an existing Calendly contact:
Phone number
Time zone
Company
Notes
Additional contact details
These fields remain editable from the contact’s detail page.
